I am daughter
of moonlight over desert landscapes
of emptiness and endless expanses.
Too many trees stifle my soul,
enclose
engulf
suffocate
Let me see long,
watch the far horizon,
listen to the wind.
I am daughter
of puma, of jaguar,
stealing through black night
under endless stars.
Alone
wild
free.
Let me wander distances
watchful, timeless.
I am daughter
of the ancients
wise
mysterious
windblown
stark
all knowing.
Let me walk into the sunset
talk with gods.
I am daughter of the universe.
Absolutely beautiful 🙂
Thank you. Glad you liked this.
Firstly, I would like to say this poem is amazing. I choose it to analysis for a paper I am writing and I thought it would be free flowing because of how much I enjoyed it but I am stuck. I know it is not any of your concern but if you had any insider tips I would appreciate them.
I just arrived home from work and will have to get out the poem and see which poem it is. Will get back to you.
Is it the one with only 5 lines?? I wrote the three at different times. It relates, well all three do, to my sense of women and mystery and the power of women to be beyond the patriarchy, to defy norms, to be free to be who they are.
Does this help?
